Elizabeth’s Story: From Chronic Fatigue to a Full, Joyful Life

She lived with years of chronic fatigue, sensory sensitivities, brain fog, food intolerances, PTSD symptoms, and emotional overwhelm. Then Elizabeth discovered that limbic system impairment was at the root of her condition. Through consistent DNRS practice, group coaching, and brain retraining techniques, she experienced a complete recovery. Today, she is symptom-free.

For nearly fifteen years, Elizabeth lived in survival mode.
Her health challenges began when she was 37 years old with chronic fatigue that gradually became more debilitating over time. What started as exhaustion slowly expanded into a long list of symptoms that affected nearly every part of her life. She developed insomnia, mood swings, brain fog, and difficulty concentrating or remembering things. Bright lights, sounds, smells, and even light touch became overwhelming. Food sensitivities appeared, bringing abdominal symptoms and digestive discomfort. Exercise intolerance made everyday activities difficult, and standing for more than 15 or 20 minutes often meant she would need to lie down and recover.
Perhaps one of the most discouraging aspects of Elizabeth’s journey was that her body seemed unable to tolerate many medications or supplements. Despite trying numerous treatments and searching tirelessly for answers, she often felt worse instead of better.
“I basically felt depressed and discouraged and like I was fighting for survival,” she recalls.
Even while struggling, Elizabeth pushed herself to care for her family and maintain some sense of normal life. But internally, she felt overwhelmed, overstimulated, and exhausted all the time. She describes those years as a chronic state of “failing to thrive.”

Searching for Answers

For nearly a decade, Elizabeth sought help from countless healthcare providers and specialists. She consulted gynecology providers, mental health professionals, nutritionists, functional medicine practitioners, and an endocrinologist. She spent many hours in psychotherapy and explored a wide variety of approaches, hoping someone could explain what was happening to her.
Instead, the process often left her feeling misunderstood and emotionally drained.

Then, in 2019, about nine years after her chronic fatigue began, Elizabeth was involved in a serious car accident. Although she did not sustain physical injuries, the trauma significantly worsened her condition and added PTSD symptoms to an already overwhelming list of health struggles.
Before discovering DNRS, Elizabeth felt isolated and hopeless.

“I felt very alone,” she says. “It seemed like I had some rare disorder that no one understood. At times, I questioned my sanity.”
The ongoing struggle also deeply affected her self-esteem. Life felt hard all the time, and she no longer trusted her ability to cope.

Discovering Limbic System Impairment

Everything began to change when Elizabeth found DNRS.
After watching the educational videos, she experienced a profound sense of clarity and relief. For the first time, her symptoms finally made sense.

“It became very clear that limbic system impairment was the root cause of all my symptoms,” she explains.
Equally important was having a clearly defined healing process. After years of confusion and uncertainty, the structure and step-by-step guidance gave her hope that recovery was truly possible.
Elizabeth committed herself fully to the program. During her first year, she practiced DNRS independently, faithfully completing her daily brain retraining exercises and studying the material.

The changes came quickly.
Within the first few months, her food sensitivities disappeared. Her sensitivities to light, sound, and smell faded away. Her energy began improving, and she found herself becoming more active again.
For the first time in years, she could see real progress.

The Power of Coaching and Community

Although Elizabeth was improving physically, she still struggled with emotional and mental patterns that felt difficult to shift on her own.
At first, the idea of joining DNRS group coaching classes felt intimidating. The thought of spending time on Zoom with strangers triggered feelings of fear and discomfort. But eventually, she decided to try.
That decision became a major turning point in her healing journey.

“The group coaching was a huge game changer for me,” she says.
The additional guidance, clarification, and support helped her move through plateaus and deepen her understanding of the retraining process. She completed two consecutive 12-week coaching programs and also worked with coaches individually during challenging periods.
Looking back, Elizabeth believes joining coaching earlier may have accelerated her recovery even more.

Living the Life of Her Dreams

Today, Elizabeth says every one of her symptoms is gone.
She is healthy, active, and thriving. She achieved her recovery goals years ago and now describes herself as “living the life of my dreams.”

“I am just so, so happy,” she says.
But beyond the physical healing, one of the greatest transformations has been emotional resilience. Life still brings challenges, but Elizabeth no longer feels overwhelmed or consumed by fear. She faces difficult situations with courage and moves forward with confidence.
Her relationships have also changed dramatically.

“I used to be super sensitive and interpreted everything as criticism,” she explains. “Now that’s gone, and I can trust people again.”
As a result, her relationships with her husband, children, and extended family have become deeper and more connected than ever before.

A Message of Hope

Elizabeth describes DNRS as a “tried-and-true method” that does not require perfection—only consistency and a willingness to keep moving forward.

“You don’t have to do everything perfectly,” she says. “Just keep pressing forward and stay the course.”

She strongly encourages others to take advantage of coaching support and community resources, especially early in the healing journey.
Most of all, Elizabeth feels deeply grateful to have found DNRS and learned the principles that helped her retrain and regulate her limbic system.

“These are tools that will help me for the rest of my life,” she says.
