Judy Healed From Lyme Disease, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, and Lifelong Food Sensitivities with DNRS

Well, I’m really glad to be here. It’s almost six months since I was sitting where you’re all sitting. And it’s been a pretty amazing six months. When I was sitting where you’re sitting, I weighed 78 pounds.

Summary

Judy lived with Lyme disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, and severe food and chemical sensitivities for over 15 years, experiencing progressive decline and significant physical deterioration. Her condition led to extreme weight loss, isolation, and fear around food and environmental exposure. After beginning DNRS, she experienced rapid improvements, including weight gain, increased strength, and reduced sensitivities. Her story reflects how addressing limbic system impairment can support recovery even in advanced and complex cases.

A Gradual Decline Over Years

Judy’s health challenges developed over many years, beginning with early sensitivities and later progressing into Lyme disease, chronic fatigue, and fibromyalgia.

Over time, her symptoms became more complex. Food sensitivities increased, and she began reacting to more and more foods, while also developing chemical sensitivities that made everyday environments difficult to tolerate.

“I was losing foods by the day.”

The progression wasn’t sudden, but it was relentless.

When Daily Life Became Unsustainable

As her condition worsened, basic daily functions became increasingly difficult.

Her diet narrowed to just a few foods, primarily fish and leafy greens, as she reacted to fats, carbohydrates, and many other common foods. At the same time, her body began to weaken due to hormonal imbalances and nutritional limitations.

Simple tasks became exhausting.

It was difficult to walk the dog, do household chores, or even move through daily routines. Traveling became nearly impossible, as managing food and environmental exposure required constant control.

Her world became smaller and more restricted.

Reaching a Critical Breaking Point

By late 2011, Judy reached a point where her situation felt unsustainable.

She was severely underweight, weighing just 78 pounds, and continuing to lose both weight and muscle strength. Her physical condition had deteriorated to the point where she struggled to recognize herself.

“When I looked in the mirror, I couldn’t relate to myself.”

At the same time, she was running out of options. With her list of tolerable foods shrinking, she feared there would soon be nothing left she could safely eat.

That realization brought a sense of urgency and desperation.

“I could see the writing on the wall.”

A Shift After the Program

After attending the DNRS program, Judy began to notice changes quickly.

One of the first shifts was in her ability to eat. As she reintroduced food, her body responded differently, and she began gaining weight steadily.

Within weeks, she gained several pounds, and over time, her strength began to return. As her system stabilized, other symptoms started to improve as well.

She noticed changes in her endocrine system, improved energy, and reduced reactivity to environmental triggers.

Her chemical sensitivities also began to decrease.

“I would say they’re about 80% better.”

These changes weren’t isolated—they built on each other, creating a broader sense of stability.

Returning to Strength and Stability

As her health improved, Judy was able to re-engage with parts of life that had been out of reach.

She could visit her daughter’s apartment again, something that had previously been impossible due to new furniture and chemical exposure. She returned to environments like movie theaters, even newly renovated ones, without experiencing symptoms.

These moments became clear markers of progress.

Beyond the physical improvements, something else shifted.

She gained a deeper understanding of her condition, recognizing how long-standing patterns and responses had shaped her experience. With that awareness, she began to approach her health differently.

“This goes to the root of the problem.”

Perhaps most meaningful was the impact on her family.

As her condition improved, those around her began to express how concerned they had been. Hearing that, and seeing their relief, brought a renewed sense of connection and emotional closeness.

For Judy, the change was not just physical recovery.

It was a return to strength, stability, and a life that once felt out of reach.

"I recognize that it’s individual for each one of us. I mean, each one of us has our own story that’s so different from anybody else’s. And yet, this is just my story. And for me, it was fantastic because once I realized that I had these tools and that I could eat, I started eating! What the program has given me is insight into myself in ways that are new for me. I’m the kind of person who tends to self-reflect, so I have a lot of knowledge of myself, and this was really interesting because it was new, and I could see how those traumas, those early traumas in my life had set me up, leaning towards being a slightly anxious person, a slightly fearful person."
