Mara: How I Have Recovered from Chemical Sensitivities

Summary

Mara developed multiple chemical sensitivities after moving into a new home, leading to years of fatigue, brain fog, and reactivity to everyday environments. After beginning DNRS, she experienced rapid improvements, including normalized smell, increased energy, and reduced symptoms within weeks. Her story reflects how addressing limbic system impairment can lead to meaningful and lasting change.

When Sensitivities Took Over

Mara’s symptoms began after moving into a newly built home.

The off-gassing triggered a level of sensitivity that stayed with her for years. Her sense of smell became so heightened that everyday exposures felt overwhelming. Cleaning products, perfumes, deodorizers, petrochemical products, even putting gas in her car could trigger a reaction.

“It was just a variety of symptoms anytime I came in contact with any kind of scents.”

Along with that came brain fog, fatigue, trouble sleeping, food sensitivities, skin irritation, and heart palpitations. Even wearing certain creams or products became difficult.

What started as a reaction didn’t pass. It became part of her daily life.

Living Life, But at a Cost

Even with all of this, Mara continued to live her life.

She worked, traveled, and stayed engaged in the world around her because that mattered to her. But it came with a constant strain.

“I was always fighting, fighting, fighting these chemicals all around me.”

That effort took its toll.

Even though she was able to maintain a sense of normalcy on the surface, she needed significantly more downtime to recover. Energy was limited, and every exposure required effort to manage.

The First Real Shift

Mara started DNRS in October 2012.

What stood out immediately was how quickly things began to change.

“I already had great results the very first weekend.”

Her sense of smell returned to normal. The brain fog lifted. She felt calm, clear, and joyful in a way that had been missing.

One experience stood out.

She went to a restaurant filled with scents and perfumes, something that would have been unthinkable before. But this time, there was no reaction.

“I just did everything that I never would ordinarily be able to do… with absolutely no trouble at all.”

That moment showed her what was possible.

Changes That Continued to Build

As she continued practicing, the improvements kept building.

Her energy increased. Sleep improved. Digestion became easier. The heart palpitations she had experienced became minimal.

She describes feeling clear, present, and alert, but not in a wired or overstimulated way. Just steady.

Within the first month, she estimated she was about 70 percent free of sensitivities. By the time of recording, she felt closer to 90 percent.

“That state of mind… clarity, energy… feeling profoundly alert.”

Through consistent brain rewiring, her responses to the same environments began to change.

Feeling Like Herself Again

Mara plans to continue through the full six-month process and feels confident in where she’s heading.

What stands out most is how different her daily experience feels.

The process itself is something she enjoys, and she describes it as one of the best decisions she’s made.

“The best thing I’ve ever done… the best money I’ve ever spent.”

And when she reflects on her progress, it comes back to something simple.

“I’m certainly closer to 90 percent now.”

For Mara, the change wasn’t about avoiding the world anymore.

It was about being able to live in it again.
